Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor (Oil & Gas)

Chloeta is recruiting an individual to serve as an instructor for basic Incident Command System (ICS) for an energy industry client.  The ideal candidate for this position is a career oil & gas industry professional with an expert level understanding of the Incident Command System (ICS), National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the National Response Framework (NRF).  Preference will be given to individuals with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) experience.  


Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration or related field preferred.  Candidates without a Bachelor’s Degree may substitute four (4) years of relevant work experience.  Relevant work experience includes increasingly responsible positions in the firefighting, law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), emergency management, public health and/or public works. Work experience must include oil & gas industry experience for consideration.  
Applicants are required to demonstrate prior completion of Incident Command System (ICS) training, including the following FEMA courses: 
  • IS-100.b Incident Command System
  • IS-200.b ICS for Single Resources
  • IS-700.a National Incident Management System (NIMS)
  • IS-800.b National Response Framework (NRF)
  • ICS-300 Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
  • ICS-400 Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff 
Additional desired training that is recommended, but not required, includes:
  • U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) O-305 All-Hazard Incident Management Team (AHIMT)
  • AHIMT Position Specific Courses
  • National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) training and qualifications 
Must have strong incident management skills, including practical application of appropriate ICS protocols to ensure effective utilization of personnel and equipment resources.
  • Must have a memory for detail, leadership qualities and sound judgment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, or as a single resource with limited supervision.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate in a variety of formats.
  • Must be able to maintain professional interpersonal skills, including effective listening, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Must adhere to acceptable standards of business ethics and integrity, and comply with all federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations in all duties.
  • Strong computer literacy to include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Multi-task and set priorities.
  • Analyze and present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Flexible to rapidly changing environment.
  • Some mild exertion, including light bending, twisting, lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Travel to field sites of the client (i.e. stations, refineries, etc.) to conduct Basic ICS for their workforce
