DescriptionThe Senior Down Hole Tool Engineer will lead the effort and projects for the development and improvement in down hole gauges to meet customer expectations. This will include being responsible for managing new product development or improvements to existing down hole tools to meet company objectives. This engineer will manage these projects while interfacing with operations to establish requirements and the implementation of these projects to meet requirements and schedules. The down hole tools will be used to gather down well data and transmit it across the power cable to the surface where the information is displayed in engineering units.
Duties:
*Be responsible for down hole tool design and manufacturing to achieve performance and cost targets.
*Develop proper design and project proof testing program for establishing performance of the down hole in comparison to competition.
*Be responsible for helping to establish new control products specifications and the design of the control products as approved by the company.
*Project manage down hole tool project both from budget and schedule aspect.
*Focus direction on achieving projects in established timeframes and on budget to support company requirements.
*Lead the effort to establish overall direction for product improvement and cost reductions on the product both in design and manufacturing.
*Be responsible for proper analysis of field failure units and corrective action to eliminate field failures in a timely manner.
*Work with other departments in the company to ensure successful integration of down hole tool products into the company plan.
*Must be able to interface with supporting staff and work with operations to help establish performance and project definitions.
*Must be willing and able to use off the shelf technology and/or as well as in house developed technology to meet customer specifications to provide the most cost effective solution.
Requirements:
*Must have a minimum of 5 years experience and responsibility for managing engineering projects and integration projects.
*Experience in down hole tools or related experience would be considered a plus.
*Must be able to demonstrate field project experience for project success.
*Must have past experience and responsibilty for major company product in related area.
*Must have technical degree from University, preferred in Electrical Engineering, or related field. Must have BS degree as minimum.
*Must be up to date on the latest integration/automation technology to keep the company abreast of the latest technology to meet customer requirements.
*Experience with the design and integration of sensor technology such as for the measurement and transmission (wired or wireless) of data such as temperature, pressure, levels, switch or valve status (open/closed), flow, flow rates, etc., is highly desirable.
