DescriptionOur client is a world leader in the manufacture of specialty chemicals used in consumer and industrial products. Due to their continued growth we are searching for a Plant Maintenance Manager for their Chicago area site. This facility is going through capital improvements and this position will be responsible for providing key maintenance management and project support. Direct reports will include a Maintenance Supervisor, E&I Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, Engineering Stores Clerk, and indirectly technicians and boiler operators. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the key responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement site maintenance program including predictive, preventative and emergency work procedures and protocols. Mentor all departmental employees ensuring all are held accountable for performance. Ensure repairs and maintenance costs are controlled to agreed levels. Drive reduction in downtime for all unit operations in particular those units that are production bottlenecks. Ensure department activities are in compliance to all Company, government and site operational departments regulations. Develop and maintain contacts with various governments, and other external third party agencies required to obtain relevant permits and appropriate annual inspections. Keep abreast of relevant new technologies, materials, and training opportunities, and implement where appropriate. Assist in establishing and implementing training programs in order to increase the effectiveness of maintenance and operations personnel. Ensure that contractor management is such that only competent, well trained personnel enter the site and in particular demonstrate a high level of safety performance. Lead the Site Contractors Safety meeting Recruit and train staff as required to meet the organizational and individual development needs of the department.
Requirements:
BS Mechanical Engineering and 8 plus years of chemical, petrochemical, refinery or bulk pharmaceutical process plant maintenance and project experience. Must have exprience supervising maintenance crafts.
